Zio Peppe Reviews (269)

Food was amazing. Fresh made pasta was al dente and perfect, homemade sauces and homemade sausage were great. The bread & spread with recommended honey chamomile goat cheese...OMG. I would have never picked that option for spread but after having it I would order it again. The ambience was great, lighting, black linen table cloths, professional and pretty well oiled machine. The service was great until close to the end where they just got a little slammed. Even boxed up our leftovers for us. I would give them 6 stars if I could. Keep doing what you're doing and don't stop.

Best pizza in Tucson!!! Doing a road trip from L.A. and looking for dinner. Saw it on Google and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did because it's the best pizza I've had in a long time. This place might even bring us back next year.

As you will read from many reviews, this place has some unique and interesting menu items. Really cool place with a relaxing ambiance. We started with the bread and spread, which was amazing. Definitely get that! My wife had the El Rustico Birria Pizza that comes with a Consommé dip. That was also really good! I had a new menu item, they were trying out - Bucatini Arrabbiata and Meatballs. I thought the meatballs and pasta were very dry, and given the price for it, that was a little disappointing. We finished up with the tres leches tiramisu which was good. They have so many unique menu items that we will definitely be back to try more.

Based on the fabulous Caesar salad I had on my last visit, my friend and I shared one as a starter. It was garlicky and cheesy and delicious. I was dismayed, though, that $1.50 charge was on our bill for splitting the salad. The additional charge should been mentioned. My friend had the Wolf and Shrimp Linguine. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. The sauce was amazing with garlic butter, cilantro & basil pesto. A puddle of the sauce remained when the linguine was gone, but a spoon was provided so no sauce would be left behind. My meatballs and pasta in arrabbiata sauce was less successful. The pasta had a lovely chew but it was dry. It needed more sauce and I expected a bit more heat in the sauce . The meatballs were firm and I would have preferred them to be more tender. I wouldn't order this dish again, but I loved the birria pizza, the Bianca pizza, the pasta and shrimp from previous visits, so will definitely return Zio Peppe. Plus service is extra friendly, efficient, and informative.

Wow! 5/5 indeed! We finally tried Zio Peppe after many years in Tucson to use our Tucson Foodie Insider subscription. The food is phenomenal. The Calimarrones appetizer is excellent. The delicious calamari with chicharrones, blood orange, and a salsa macha sauce. The perfect combination of crispy and flavor. The pasta dishes are also made to order and fantastic as well. The garlic butter shrimp pasta and new chile bolognese were both unique and you can taste the freshness of the pasta. The balance of flavors used in each dish is noticeable. I like the mild spicyness from the chile bolognese and tangy flavor from the garlic shrimp pasta.
